We are pleased to announce in the environmental war against waste, we have joined with TerraCycle Australia as a Community Recycling Collection Location.

At the Aspendale Gardens Vet Hospital we are an environmentally conscious workplace and do everything we can to minimise our environmental footprint and make sustainable choices.  We are pleased to be able to provide a recycling collection hub for our local community to support and encourage recycling.

TerraCycle is an innovative global waste management company that has become a global leader in recycling hard-to-recycle materials in 21 countries. It primarily runs a volunteer-based recycling platform to collect non-recyclable pre-consumer and post-consumer waste, and then partners with corporate donors or municipalities to turn it into raw material to be used in new products. They have teamed up with leading companies such as Royal Canin, Schwarzkopf and Colgate to diverted millions of kilograms of valuable resources from landfills all over the world and turn them into new products.

Lids4Kids Recycling Program (Click on the heading for more information)

PLEASE wash, dry and colour sort ALL the lids before dropping them off to me.

I accept all items pictured. Lids4Kids specifically collect plastic bottle lids marked with the recycle triangle featuring the #2 (which is made from High Density Poly-Ethelene or HDPE) and #4 (which is made from Low Density Poly-Ethelene or LDPE).

I also can recycle select lids marked with the recycle triangle featuring the #5 (which is made from Poly-Propylene or PP).

Many plastic manufacturers include a recycle triangle on the plastic items that they produce. The triangle will include a number between 1 and 7 indicating what type of plastic the item is made from. Many plastic lids DO NOT have a recycle triangle inside them, they are still ACCEPTED as the overwhelming majority of small lids from water bottles and soft drink bottles are made from HDPE (#2) and the milk bottle lid is soft and squishy, it is made from LDPE (#4).

Eligible plastic bottle lids include lids from milk bottles, water bottles and soft drink bottles. Please note that the foam freshness seals MUST be removed from all milk bottle lids before they are dropped off please.
